As an educator, I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing their opinions and engaging in open, constructive dialogue. My goal is to foster a classroom atmosphere where students can freely share their thoughts and broaden their perspectives. At University of Virginia I teach Italian, and over the years, I have actively sought out opportunities for professional development to enhance my effectiveness as an instructor. I believe that integrating authentic materials and encouraging discussions significantly enriches the learning experience, helping students develop confidence and a sense of ownership over their learning while eliminating the fear of making mistakes.
