Politics dictates much of how we live our daily lives, yet it is always changing. Because politics involves people it is inherently messy and chaotic. My goal as an educator is to help students develop a systematic understanding of the complex and ever-changing political world. The tools I have acquired by studying political science and public policy help uncover the signal in the cacophony that is contemporary American politics. I hope that students in my Engagements courses learn how to detect those signals and, even more importantly, decode why they are being sent.
