My teaching philosophy centers on creating an open, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging in discussion. I aim to guide students toward deeper understanding by fostering curiosity and encouraging them to explore ideas collaboratively. As an astronomer, my research focuses on pulsars: these extraordinary remnants of dead stars that pack the mass of our Sun into a region the size of a small city, spin hundreds of times per second, and host some of the strongest magnetic fields in the universe. These objects offer a powerful gateway to understanding extreme physics, and I am excited to share how scientists study such seemingly incomprehensible phenomena. I believe astronomy has an unique ability to spark scientific curiosity in people of all backgrounds and experience levels. My goal is to combine my passion for pulsars with this broader appeal of astronomy to inspire the next generation of scientists and critical thinkers. I have experience teaching students across a wide range of levels, from elementary school to upper level undergraduates. Through the College Fellows Program, I look forward to continuing this work by using astronomy and the mystery of compact objects to engage, challenge, and inspire new scholars.
